Design Communication
After completing this module, I realized how great it contributes to my first semester. Starting off with 4 tutorial assignments, then ending off with 3 projects, ensured that I was keeping up with the development of my skills for the appropriate communication of architectural design. By the end of this module, I was able to apply the skills I developed to my other modules and interpret visual information into orthographic drawings, axonometric drawings, perspective drawings, and tattoo stamps.
Individually, student will produce a set of fundamental architectural graphics as a medium of communication that demonstrate their understanding of space and basic principles of architecture.
Accumulating the skills developed during the four tutorial exercises, students will then produce a movie poster that demonstrates the skills developed.
Individually, students are going to produce 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional drawings using orthographic projections in three phases manually and continuously. The purpose is to explore manual projection methods in architectural drawing emphasizing on architectural conventions, symbols and line quality. Besides, students will also explore office method projection and demonstrate the technical knowledge and use them as pictorial drawing in developing design concepts and generate solution to a design problem.
The major project requires student to individually explore architectural response within the context of the site and programmatic requirements of space for self. Students will continue to adapt and apply skills and technical knowledge of specific discipline including organization, content, presentation formatting and style to communicate meaning to audience effectively.
Reflection:
Throughout the 14 weeks of this module, I have seen very obvious growth which was possible due to the effectiveness of how this module was taught. The combination between face to face lectures and live online lectures really helped as I could go on MyTimes to do reviews on the past lectures.
