SUSTAINABLE DESIGN POLICIES AND REGULATIONS
PROJECT 1: RESEARCH ARTICLE
PROJECT 2: SDG to Architecture, Aligning architecture to SDG goals
REFLECTION
Engaging in the Sustainable Design Policies and Regulations module has been a thought-provoking and educational experience, delving into critical aspects of sustainability. Collaborating with fellow students on a research paper exploring the impact of earthquakes on heritage buildings allowed us to navigate multifaceted themes within the sustainability realm. Investigating this specific challenge broadened my perspective on the intricate intersection between historical preservation and environmental resilience. Additionally, the site visit to The Arc Rimba was instrumental in translating theoretical knowledge into practical insights. Focusing on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13, Climate Action, I meticulously analyzed the strategies employed by the architect to align with this global objective. Creating a presentation board became a dynamic exercise in distilling and showcasing tangible examples of how The Arc Rimba's design and construction contribute to climate resilience. This module not only heightened my awareness of sustainability policies and regulations but also honed my ability to critically analyze and articulate sustainable design principles in real-world contexts, equipping me with valuable skills for future endeavors in sustainable architecture.
